What is OTT?

OTT (Over-the-top) has various faces in recent years. Depending on how you used OTT in the past, you may have called it mobile video. Today, the term OTT is perceived as a device used to stream television, rather than a relationship with an operator. OTT delivers content from programmers to end users, eliminating the need for traditional TV stations to place your commercials.

What’s the Difference?

This is an important difference. OTT ads are different from other online video ads. These ads are ads that appear on your TV screen via a smart (connected) TV or streaming device. Advertising with over-the-top can make the important difference that multiple people watch a show when online mobile video attracts one viewer. Simply put, it is used to consume content instead of browsing it on the web.

The huge amount of places to advertise through OTT is increasing exponentially. Traditional TV advertising faces fierce competition from OTT advertising as users begin to switch to streaming and cable TV.

Top Partners: NETFLIX & HULU, VERSUS ROKU.

Netflix and Hulu have high ratings, but Roku is the best-selling device for streaming. However, Roku controls only about one-third of the market. As a result, there is plenty of room for other companies to sell ads on other major CTV devices such as Chromecast, Amazon Fire TV, and Apple TV.
